My top 3 current trends

2020 bought us many trends from hot pants and bright colours to gloves and waistcoats but my top 3 current trends have to be, psychedelic prints, decorative denim and colourful crochet. These current trends are definitely on the rise for spring/ summer 21 as we've seen many brands take on the trends such as Tom Ford, Miaou and Prada and also more mainstream brands such as Paloma Wool, House of Sunny and Jaded London.

1) Psychedelic print

Psychedelic print has recently come back after it being popular around in the 70s. Many brands have took on the trend including Paloma Wool, Jaded Ldn and House of Sunny. Psychedelic print pairs really nicely with bold colours, such as pink jeans, or even a plain white tee if the print is on the bottom. I you really want to stand out, mixing two different prints or colours is a fun way of styling.

2) Decorative Denim

Denim has always been a trend that never fades but there's always different takes on the denim trend: flares, jackets, skirts, etc. This current trend is decorative denim, so patchwork , embroidered and printed denim. Many brands have took on the trend but you mainly see this style taking off on Depop as people are becoming crafty and designing their own denim looks.

3) Colourful Crochet

Crochet was a huge trend in the 70s as the 'hippy' culture came about, now the trend has boomed again for summer 2021. Many big brands have taken on the trend such as Acne Studios, Dior and Valentino, and also more mainstream brands like Zara and H&M.
